Sky Blue Sam invites locals to score new homes near Ricoh Arena

First team warm-up top sponsors Orbit visited a family fun day at Foxford School and Community Arts College with CCFC’s Sky Blue Sam to promote the wider message of shared ownership and the local development Hawkesbury Manor; a brand new beautifully landscaped canal-side development near the Ricoh Arena.

The Coventry City Football Club mascot brought penalty shoot-out fun to the family event while Orbit’s team was on hand to raise awareness of affordable housing options and share information about the new development in the area.

Taking part in the community fun, Karen Freeman, sales and marketing consultant at Orbit said: “Foxford Family Fun Day proved to be a huge success in bringing together the local community. We have really enjoyed speaking to locals of all ages about developing much needed affordable homes in the area, answering questions about shared ownership and raising awareness of housing options available to get on the property ladder.”

Ruth Williamson, head teacher at Foxford School and Community Arts College said: “With the new development moving at pace just round the corner from our school it was really good to have Orbit join our family fun day.

“I know a number of local community members, parents, staff and even some students were interested to gather further details about the development. It will also be useful for us to reference with students as we carry out work with them on raising their awareness and understanding of home ownership.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Orbit and are planning a site visit for our students and the design of a time capsule which will be buried at the new development.”

Located on Grange Road, in the Longford area of Coventry, Hawkesbury Manor offers 80 properties for shared ownership and affordable rent. There is a mix of 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom houses and apartments available.
