On Saturday 30 September from 11am to 2pm, Heathcote House, an Orbit very sheltered housing scheme in Brandon, Suffolk, will be opening its doors to the local community for a free open day. Everyone is invited to come along, learn more about the scheme and enjoy some free refreshments. Staff will be on hand to provide guided tours of the scheme.
Heathcote House is ideal for people over the age of 50 who are looking for an affordable home that provides support, but who would also like to live independently. Each of the self-contained 24 flats has its own front door, bedroom(s), lounge, kitchen and shower room. There is also an emergency intercom alarm system with pull cords in each room.
There are many on-site amenities including laundry facilities, visitor parking and an affordable en-suite room for relatives to stay in while visiting family members. Additionally, there is also a large, centrally located lounge as well as a smaller, cosy lounge with a kitchenette for customers to use. Heathcote House also has a door entry system, a lift to give easy access to the first floor and an attractive landscaped garden for customers to enjoy. A specially adapted bathroom is also available for assisted bathing.
Customers living at the scheme have the choice of living their lives privately or get involved in any of the social activities that take place. Orbit staff work closely with customers to help them manage their day-to-day lives and signpost them to additional support if they need it.
