Caesar Court 50Th Low Res

On Tuesday 18 July customers and staff held an afternoon cream tea event to commemorate Orbit's 50th year at Caesar Court, one of Orbit’s newest independent living with care housing schemes located in Deal, Kent.

The event saw about 30 people enjoy an afternoon of socialising and fun. They also held a Caesar Court in Bloom competition that the Worshipful Town Mayor of Deal, David Cronk, judged along with his Mayoress, Karen Cronk and the Town Sergeant, Barry Finch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and the time they got to spend together as a community.

Jackie Evans, an Orbit customer who lives at Caesar Court, says; “I loved the cream tea and strawberries, it was an ideal way to celebrate Orbit’s 50th. When’s the next one?”

The Worshipful Town Mayor of Deal, David Cronk, attended the event and says: “I was honoured to attend the Caesars Court 50th year celebration event and meet the residents of this independent living with care housing scheme. I was impressed with the strong feeling of community spirit held by all there and delighted to be asked to judge Caesar Court in Bloom competition with all the gardens, patios and pots. However, this was not an easy task as the standard was so high!  Thank you again for making me so welcome in such a happy community place.”

Caesar Court comprises 81 one and two bedroom apartments, which were made available through a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership. The scheme is owned and managed by Orbit and has become a real hub for the local community, with a number of its facilities being open to the public, including: a hairdressers, beauty parlour and restaurant.

Founded in 1967 as a housing co-ownership society, Orbit has been building communities for 50 years, investing in homes, services and communities to help people live independently and maximise their potential.
