From 19 June 2017 all customers who are offered a tenancy in one of our general needs homes (ie homes that are not in supported or sheltered schemes) will have to pay at least one full week’s rent before signing for their new tenancy.
This applies to all customers whatever their employment or benefit status. The payment will also need to be made by either a debit or credit card.
Payment of rent in advance has always been part of our lettings process and is a condition of the tenancy agreement. It’s important that customers start their tenancy with us understanding their responsibilities around rent payments. This will help all our new customers successfully keep their tenancies going right from the start.
