Orbit’s pioneering digital tenancy sign-up tool, Orbit Move, tops the tech charts once again winning a Housing Innovation award.

Celebrating innovation in the housing sector, Orbit Move was named ‘Most Innovative Housing App/Online Tool’ at the national awards.

The digital tool was developed by 39,000-home housing association Orbit, in partnership with digital solutions specialists, Prodo Digital. It provides a faster, easier and more efficient way to complete the tenancy sign-up process in just five simple steps.

Since its launch in January 2016, over 90% of Orbit’s tenancy applications have been completed online.

Mark Hoyland, interim chief executive at Orbit, said: “What a fantastic achievement this is for Orbit in its 50th year, as we continue to deliver digital solutions and improve the way we work. Orbit Move is a great example of sector-leading technology, supporting our customers’ needs through better flexibility and choice.”

Orbit Move supports the housing association’s ambition to achieve 75 per cent customer transactions online by 2020, as well as delivering a customer-focused service and improving efficiencies.

This is the second award in four months for Orbit Move, having already picked up an award for ‘Excellence in the use of Technology’ at the regional Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) awards. The digital tool has also been shortlisted for a UK Housing Award, the winners of which will be announced on Wednesday 26 April.
