We are delighted to announce Orbit’s sector-leading digital tenancy sign-up tool, Orbit Move, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Outstanding Innovation of the Year category of the 2017 UK Housing Awards.
The digital tool developed by Orbit in partnership with digital development specialists, Prodo Digital, provides a faster, easier and more efficient way to complete the tenancy sign-up process in just five simple steps.
Over 90 per cent of Orbit’s tenancy applications have been completed online since its launch in January 2016.
Kevin Hornsby, Head of Housing at Orbit, said: “We’re delighted to have made the shortlist of such prestigious awards as we celebrate our 50th year as an organisation. Orbit Move is a great example of changing the way we work to meet our customers’ needs. We’re proud to be pushing the boundaries as we pursue our digital first strategy, engaging with customers digitally from our first interaction.”
Orbit Move supports the housing association’s ambition to achieve 75 per cent customer transactions online by 2020, as well as delivering a customer-focused service and improving efficiencies.
This is the third success for Orbit Move having already picked up an award for ‘Excellence in the use of Technology’ at the regional Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) awards and having made the shortlist in the upcoming Housing Innovation Awards.
Launched 20 years ago, the UK Housing Awards were the first to recognise achievement in social housing and remain the most respected awards in the sector. Organised by Inside Housing in association with CIH, the awards recognise the ingenuity, creativity, passion and results of housing organisations across the UK.
Shortlisted entries will now make a short pitch to a panel of judges, followed by an interview on 13 March. Orbit will be represented by Paul Richards, Executive Director of Customer Services, Kevin Hornsby, Head of Housing and Lisa Odedra, Digital Services Programme Manager.
The winners of the UK Housing Awards 2017 will be announced at a ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel on Wednesday 26 April.
