Orbit’s first private rent development, Fordham House in Stratford-upon-Avon, has hit a high point.
To mark the highest point in the build being reached, Orbit was joined on the roof by its partners at the Stratford Town Trust, ABD Developments, Robothams Architects, and Deeley Construction for a topping out ceremony.
Offering 82 new private rent apartments in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, initial preference for Fordham House will be given to key workers in the town, such as health and emergency service workers and teachers, as well as local people.
Previously a vacant office building, Orbit took over the lease from the Stratford Town Trust in January 2016, and the building was demolished shortly after.
Due for completion later this year, the new residential development will offer a mix of high-quality one and two bedroom apartments for private rent. Let on assured short-hold tenancies, the homes will be owned and managed by Orbit.
Adam Cooper, Orbit's commercial services director, joined Stratford Town Trust chief executive Justin Williams, and Deeley Construction's Peter Deeley and site manager Richard Pepper on the new roof. He said:
“The build is certainly coming on well, and the topping out ceremony was a great opportunity to celebrate the progress of Fordham House with all the partners involved. We have already seen a high level of interest in the new apartments, and only expect this grow as the scaffolding comes down.”
Peter Deeley of Deeley Construction said: “We are delighted with way work is progressing and the topping out ceremony marks an important milestone in the build.”
