Orbit recognised at national Housing Innovation awards

Celebrating innovation in the housing sector, Orbit’s sector-leading digital tenancy sign-up tool, Orbit Move, has been shortlisted in the 2017 Housing Innovation awards.

The pioneering, responsive website and mobile app, Orbit Move, has been shortlisted for ‘Most Innovative Housing App/Online Tool’. The digital tool was developed by 39,000-home housing association Orbit, in partnership with digital development specialists, Prodo Digital and provides a faster, easier and more efficient way to complete the tenancy sign-up process in just five simple steps.

Over 90 per cent of Orbit’s tenancy applications have been completed online since its launch in January 2016.

Kevin Hornsby, head of housing at Orbit, said: “We’re proud to see Orbit Move continue to be recognised as an effective digital tool that improves the customer journey. Innovation is a core value at Orbit as we continue to deliver an improved and more efficient customer-focussed service, helping to achieve our target of 75 per cent customer transactions online by 2020.”

Orbit Move also picked up an award for ‘Excellence in the use of Technology’ at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) awards in November.
