Each year Orbit’s Facilities team in Coventry hold a Christmas raffle to raise money for a local charity.
This year the team raised £220.00 for the Coventry Cyrenians, a charity which supports the local homeless community and the vulnerably housed across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Beverly Jones, Orbit’s Facilities Manager, said: “It’s wonderful to know that the money raised is going to a good cause that’s accessible to all. The Facilities team’s Christmas raffle has helped to raise money for a number of charities and it is always something we look forward to, knowing we will able to give more at a time when many people are in need of support.”
David Wilson of Coventry Cyrenians collected the cheque personally and expressed his gratitude for the donation. The money raised will help the charity to uphold its traditional Christmas lunch event which has been running for the last 30 years. The event will be held at Methodist Central Hall in Coventry, from 11am to 3pm and will include a three course meal. The charity also aims to give every individual a small gift, depending on the donations received.
