Available for use by local residents and the wider community, the new sports facilities include a football pitch and a pavilion that offers changing rooms and showers, as well as refreshments and parking.

Paul High, Orbit’s executive director of property investment, said: “Orbit’s £600,000 investment into the new sports facilities at Aspire is a real demonstration of our commitment to not just building new homes, but communities too.

“Sports and games are a great way to bring people together, and we hope the new pitch and pavilion create a thriving centre of activity for the Aspire community. We are also keen to hear from local sports clubs who may be interested in using the pavilion and pitch on a regular basis.”

Mayor Dave Hodgson said: “It’s great to see the sports pitch and pavilion completed and open for use by the community. Bedford has a proud sporting culture which is founded on participation and enjoyment, and these new facilities for the Aspire estate will enhance that even further.”

Located off Norse Road on the north east edge of Bedford, Aspire offers 321 two, three and four bedroom homes available through a mix of market sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.

Aspire is due to be fully completed later this summer, with all homes now reserved. To find out more about Orbit Homes’ developments in Bedford, please visit
