Jeannette Marsand has lived in Erith for ten years, along with her daughter, Kelsie, aged 12, and now also her son, Kelly, aged two. The Marsands moved into their new affordable rented three bedroom townhouse at Erith Park this past December. They have strong ties to the local community and Jeannette works at St Anne’s Pre-School which will move to new premises in the second phase of the Erith Park development.
Jeanette lived at the former Larner Road estate and decided to stay in the area because of the community spirit. Although things weren’t always easy living at Larner Road, she says that overall the people who live there are friendly and look out for each other.
Jeanette said: “Of all the places I’ve lived, this part of Erith has always been where I’ve felt most at home. I had the opportunity to move to a new house elsewhere but I realised I really wanted to stay here. People are friendly and look out for each other and it’s such a convenient location.
“My new home is all I ever wanted and more. This neighbourhood is going to be a fabulous place to live and I’m really excited and proud to be a part of the new community. I look forward to settling and watching my family grow here. It’s a cosy, safe haven and I don’t have to worry if my children will be okay. I’m looking forward to meeting my new neighbours and welcoming newcomers to the area. I feel so blessed and grateful to have this opportunity, it doesn’t feel real!”
