In the UK, around 23,500 children and 1,500 babies have been diagnosed with a terminal illness for which there is no reasonable cure. Zoë’s Place baby hospice in Coventry helps these children by providing 24 hour, high quality, one-to-one palliative, respite and end of life care to children aged 0-5 years as well as vital support for their families.
To help raise money for the hospice, this July will see the third annual Charity Golf Day hosted by Orbit Homes. The event will take place on 10 July at The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club, Leek Wootton, and will include a day of golf followed by live music and an evening meal. With the aim of beating last year’s total of over £12,000, over 200 guests are expected to attend from a mix of local businesses across the region.
Orbit Homes’ Head of Construction, George Obeng-Manu, the main driver behind the event, said: “This is a charity which delivers such an excellent and personal service to people who are dealing with an unthinkable situation.
“I am proud that Orbit Homes is able to pull together with businesses throughout the area to help raise money for this deserving cause. We are determined to make this the most successful event to date.”
Muna Chauhan, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Zoë’s Place added: “It’s a pleasure to be working with Orbit Homes again; the amount of money raised over the two years since the event started has totalled over £33,000. Donations like these are essential in enabling us to continue to offer our services.”
