New homes for Stratford families

Six families will be spending Easter in their new Long Marston homes.

Jaki Jelley, who was one of the first to receive the keys to her two-bedroom property, managed by local housing provider Orbit Heart of England, said “We're totally over the moon with our new house and can't wait to get moved in.”

Orbit Heart of England Community Housing Officer, Jacqui Duggan commented: “It’s great to see these much needed homes being created in the Stratford-on-Avon district. Of the 284 properties, Orbit Heart of England will take on management of 83, which will be available for affordable rent. Two of our existing customers have already upsized to new four-bedroom properties which are much more suitable for their families’ requirements.”

In total 284 homes will be constructed on the former Ministry of Defence site at Long Marston. Developed by Persimmon Homes in partnership with Orbit Homes, there will be a mixture of flats, houses and maisonettes available to rent or buy through affordable rent or Help to Buy Shared Ownership. The site will also boast on site sports facilities, including: a skate park, cricket pitch and sports hall.
