Abandoned vehicles

If you are concerned about an a vehicle such as a car or van that may have been abandoned, there are several organisations that you can report it to.

A vehicle will not be considered to be abandoned if it is:

  • taxed;
  • legally parked and is on a road with no parking restrictions;
  • in good condition; and
  • is not causing an obstruction.

You can check if a vehicle is taxed before reporting it.

Reporting an abandoned vehicle

If the vehicle does not meet the conditions above, and is on a public road or other public space, you can report it to your local council.

If the vehicle is parked on a carpark or other land managed by Orbit, you can contact us and we'll investigate the issue.
