Tony Crook is a Chartered Town Planner. He is now Emeritus Professor of Town & Regional Planning at The University of Sheffield where he was senior Pro Vice Chancellor. He has also served as a non executive director or trustee of several housing and related organisations, including as Chair of Shelter. Currently he is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute Trustee Board and Chairs its Education Committee. He is also Deputy Chair and Chair designate of the Construction Industry Council. His most recent book on Planning Gain won the RTPI Research Excellence Award in 2016. Tony was appointed CBE in the 2014 New Year Honours List for services to housing and the governance of charities.
