WiFi access

As part of Orbit’s pledge to help customers get online, we invested in a project to provide WiFi internet access in 20 of our sheltered and supported schemes across the country, including schemes in Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and the West Midlands.

With our delivery partner, CommunityUK, the project now offers over 400 Orbit customers the opportunity to access the internet free of charge.

After six months it was found that 434 new active user accounts had been created and users have logged on to the service over 21,000 times. Customer feedback indicated positive impacts on social isolation, employability and wellbeing.
