Council appoints Orbit to deliver new homes

Epsom and Ewell Borough Council has announced plans to work in partnership with Orbit Homes to create 30 affordable homes.

Initial plans for the Hollymoor Lane site in Epsom include a mix of houses and flats to be made available for shared ownership and rent.

The development will help provide affordable housing for local families, including a number of four and five bedroom houses. The site is also set to include a two bedroom wheelchair accessible home as well as a small supermarket to replace the existing shop on the site.

Maggie McCann, Orbit Homes Development Director, said “We’re delighted to have been appointed to this contract and we look forward to working with Epsom & Ewell Borough Council to deliver these much-needed affordable homes to address housing demand in the area.” 

Councillor Neil Dallen, Chairman of Epsom & Ewell Borough Council's Strategy & Resources Committee, added "This project marks a key milestone in transforming this semi-derelict site into something that the Council and the local community can be very proud of.

"We are pleased to have Orbit on board to undertake the re-development of Hollymoor Lane." 

The site planning application is due to be submitted in Spring 2015, following consultation with the local community and stakeholders.
