Orbit going for green in awards shortlisting
Orbit Group is celebrating after being shortlisted in three categories at the Sustainable Housing Awards as well as shortlisting for the Retrofit Awards.
The three shortlisted categories for the Sustainable Housing Awards are: Green Social Champion of the Year for John Barnham, Head of Sustainable Investment; Sustainable Smaller Housing Retrofit Project for Elliot Drive, a PassivHaus project in rural Warwickshire and Social Housing Provider of the Year for Orbit Group.
Orbit Group also received a shortlisting in the Retrofit Awards in the Small Housing category. The project, Elliot Drive, compares PassivHaus standards against affordable retrofit methods.
The Sustainable Investment team, who work within Orbit Group’s operating association, Orbit Heart of England, was formed to deliver low carbon solutions and the shortlistings, are a testament to their commitment to sustainability.
John Barnham, Head of Sustainable Investment, said: “We are extremely pleased to be shortlisted for both the Sustainable Housing and Retrofit awards. The shortlistings reflect our passion for providing affordable eco solutions to our residents and communities.”
The Sustainable Housing Awards will be held on the 19 October at the Hilton in London’s Mayfair. The Retrofit Awards will take place on the 12 September.
