Orbit Group shortlisted for two Housing Heroes Awards
Orbit Group is celebrating after two of its teams were shortlisted for the 2012 Housing Heroes Awards. The shortlisted categories are IT Team of the Year and Procurement Team of the Year.
Both teams are part of Orbit Services, which looks after all of Orbit’s ‘back office’ functions, providing a vital service to enable the organisation to continue delivering first class homes and services to its residents.
The IT team’s entry focused on its achievements in 2011, specifically in bringing in a large scale mobile working project, providing measurable and extensive benefits for both customers and staff.
The procurement team, which also delivers services to external customers, including other housing organisations, put in an entry which showed huge growth in savings delivered, as well as a very successful procurement exercise conducted for Orbit East and South.
Managing Director of Orbit Services, Afzal Ismail, said: “Being shortlisted for such prestigious sector awards is a real testament to the hard work and commitment of both teams.

Last year, Orbit Homes won Development Team of the Year in the 2011 Housing Heroes Awards.
This year’s Housing Heroes Awards ceremony is on 11 May in London, when the winners will be announced.
